Question: a question about scuba diving?

Answer #1:

I guess it could deal with pressure, if you are under water and you hold you breath while using it then your just going to need air and blow out maybe loosing your mouthpiece and then right after you do that you will be gasping for air and then sucking in water

Answer #2:

Scuba equipment delivers air to your lungs at the same pressure as the water around you (the pressure increases greatly as you go down). You are supposed to breath all the time so that your lungs are at the same pressure as the water surrounding you (kept that way by the scuba regulator). If you hold your breath while ascending the pressure in your lungs will be greater than the surrounding water (and the rest of your body) and could damage your lungs. If for what ever reason you run out of air or lose your mouthpiece and have to ascend without scuba air you are taught to constantly breath out so that your lungs aren't at a greater pressure than the rest of your body.
